My mother was Mary Louise Forde of Drumkeerin, her father was Bernard, her mother was Catherine nee McKeon. Does anyone have any information on this family. I know my mum was educated at a convent in Manorhamilton, her father was some sort of farmer, and he had in his employ one Anthony O'Rourke. I believe the farm/house was called Ballybawn??

My great uncle Joe was for some time Chief of Police in North Attleborough, but it is believed that most of the McKeon's were either jewellers, or that many were priests. The connection with Leitrim remains strong, as my grandmother left Massachusetts and returned to Leitrim some time around 1921. Remember, married name Forde, nee McKeon. Married to Bernard, farm called Ballybawn (do not know how to spell this correctly).
I'm still doing research on the Forde family.

As further back up, the catherine Mckeon he married had been living in North Attleborough MA, where her brother Joe was Chief of Police, and where numerous McKeon lived and worked as jewellers or priests. Of Bernard Forde I know only what you already have.
