Neary family in Co. Roscommon

Starting to search my family tree and wonder if anyone has any information<br>on the Neary family. They are from Callow townland in the parish of<br>Kilnamanagh. I'm looking for my great grandfather Michael James Neary<br>born about 1838, married about 1865 to Elizabeth Callely and he died in 1923.<br>I plan to be in Ireland from August 4th and hope to do more research.<br>Can anyone tell me how to get the best use out of the heritage centre in<br>Strokestown (wherever that is)? You can find out about the Heritage Center at the following URL: http://www.mayo-ireland.ie/Geneal/Roscmmn.htm They are very slow and unreliable. You might also search the Neary name on the Griffiths Search Page at this Leitrim-Roscommon site...however, they are still compiling it and it is incomplete. My suggestion is you go to the library in Boyle which is in Roscommon and they have a room with a lot of historical records. They have many local history materials, including Griffiths Valuation and Tithe Applotment lists. The staff is very helpful as well. Good luck in your research! Michele Driscoll
