My father's cousins, the Pyes came from Tullaghan. I am sorry to say that I do not know the Rodgers or the McGees. I cannot remember him mentioning those names of that I ever met anyone in the towns with those names. However, I can assure you that Kinlough and Tullaghan are there in North Leitrim.
Anna McGowan

I know that you will have a great time around Tullaghan and Kinlough. My grandmother, Ann Gilmartin McGowan, came from near Cliffony, a place called Carnamada, which I have probably mispelled. Your father may have known the Gilmartins or maybe my uncle William McGowan, who lived with his grandparents when he was a boy. Uncle Willie was a few years older than your father but they might have met. Have a great trip, I am very envious since Leitrim is one of my favorite places.

It certainly is a small world. Although I have been to Grange and Cliffony, I do not recognize the names of those pubs. We would go to Grange to visit my father's cousin, Bridget Kennedy Boyle married to Michael Boyle. Bridie had brothers who farmed the home place, one of whom was Henry Kennedy, I think that the other one was John but they died a number of years ago. Michael Boyle is also a farmer and Bridie was a nurse. It is great that you still have your father to give you all this background and that you still can go to the home place. Have a great time wandering though that contry under Ben Bulben.
Anna McGowan
