Searching for GGGrandfather THOMAS GAVAGAN, (or is it GAVAGHAN?)whose son Robert, "born at Boyle in Roscommon in 1830", existance remains a mystery in the place that he claimed (Boston, Massachusetts, USA, 1852 Naturalization Papers)to have been born. I have information on him from 1852 to his death in 1899, his wife, his children, etc. to the present. I cannot, however, locate him in Ireland, yet can't imagine that he would lie about his birthplace on his American citizenship papers - "born at Boyle in Roscommon". Perhaps GAVAGAN was once spelled GAVAGHAN. If you see this name anywhere, please e-mail me. Thank you, and good luck in your own quest.
