Can anyone verify this name in Leitrim and where. My great grandfather<br>came over to the US in the 1880s and reportedly changed his name from Geelan to Gillen.

In Mohill Parish, there were these two marriages. They were indexed under Gillan (Geelan); the record itself said Geelan.<p>22 Feb 1841 Patrick Bohan = Alice Geelan; witnesses Peter Bohan, Mary Ward<br>1 Mar 1841 William Treanor - Rosann Geelan; witnesses Francis and Thomas Gillan.
