NEARY/MURRAY Ancestors

Post by Valerie Kennedy »

I am endeavouring to trace the village whence my NEARY
and MURRAY ancestors hailed. Martin NEARY was born in
Roscommon in 1817 and Bridget MURRAY in 1807. They
were married in Birmingham, England in 1835 and had
six sons: James, Edward, John, James, Peter & Martin.
If they kept to the traditional Irish naming pattern,
I could be looking for a James NEARY and Edward MURRAY
in the Tithe Applotments perhaps.
Besides Martin NEARY I found a Thomas, Michael, Patrick
and Edward Neary living in Birmingham in the 1841 Census.
I'm assuming they were from the same family in
Roscommon. That's all they put in the Census -
Born in Roscommon. I'm desperate to hear from someone
of these names whose relatives left for England around
1830/35. Associated names (Godparents) are Moran,
Farley, Cassidy, Kelly, Herrigan & McCarthy)
