Re: Croghan Family Co. Roscommon
Hello,
My Croghan family came to the US in the 1850s, my great-grandfather's name was James
and his fathers name was John. John Croghan married Elizabeth Carroll year unknown but
they both came from county Roscommon and settled in Providence RI. In the 1865 census
John and Eliza are living in next door (and probably in the same 3 family house as
Hubert Croghan (age 16), his younger brother Patrick and mother Mary.
I don't know if they could be your relations as many of the Irish had the same
Christian names.
Please email me for more detailed information as what I have posted here is from
memory, and I rarely get here
Kathy
