NYC & the Irish

Post by John M. Lynch »

For those whose Irish forebares lived in NYC in the
latter half of 19th Century, and who wish to learn how
they lived, recommend reading "Plunkitt of Tammany Hall,
by William L. Riordon, published by Bedford Books of
St. MArtin's Press, Boston & New York, 1992. It was
part of U.S. Urban History Course I took in 1995 at
University of New Orleans. Gives one a better under-
standing of Irish life at that time.
