I am trying to trace my Kilroy ancestors back to Ireland. My grandfather, James J. Kilroy was born in the USA. His father, Michael Joseph Kilroy, emigrated to the USA from Ireland probably sometime in the later 1800's to early 1900's, although no one is certain of the exact date. His brothers, John and Patrick, came too, although they may have come at different times. Michael and John settled in Massachusetts, Michael probably in Malden, MA. Michael later married Maria Carrigan and they moved to New Hampshire. Patrick went to California and was still there around the time of World War 2, when my grandfather stopped to visit that branch of the family on his way home. It is thought that Michael possibly lived in Galway before he left, but was probably not born there. I am looking for any and all Ireland and USA connections. Can anyone help?
