Hello,
Both names...FARRELL and HIGGINS, appear on my family tree.
My line is: HONORA FARRELL married to PATRICK MEIGHAN (sometimes spelled MEEHAN). Honora died in 1862, possibably in child birth. Children of Patrick Meighan and Honora Farrell were (exact order of birth unknown, except for Harriett):
Bridget, Mary, Susann, Nora and Harriett my great grandmother. Harriett, was born in Heckscherville, Pa. which is coal mining country. Heckscherville, is a tiny village/town outside of Pottsville, Pa. Harriett went on to marry PATRICK FRANCIS DOWD in 1883 in Centralia, Pa., which is also outside of Pottsville.
One of they children of PATRICK DOWD and HARRIETT MEIGHAN....my grandmother, HELEN DOWD born March 9, 1890 in Excelsior, Pa., married MICHAEL MULDOWNEY whose grandmother was MARY HIGGINS. This MARY HIGGINS was married to PATRICK MULDOWNEY. This line is then found in Plainfield, New Jersey, outside of Princeton, N. J. There were many children and it's believed Patrick married twice, having in total, 22 children.
Many relatives are in the N. J. and Philadelphia area.
Unfortunately, I don't know (at the moment), where the families originated from in Ireland, although Co. Mayo (on death certificate of Patrick Muldowney) and Roscommon are always mentioned in oral famiy history.
Do you think we have a connection somewhere?
Linda Coyle-Robinson

: Looking for any info on my ggrandparents George Farrell
: and Bridget Higgins Farrell.
