CONBOY surname

Post by Jim Conboy »

I am intersted in hearing from anyone regarding Conboys who live in or came from County Leitrim. My great great grandfather, Michael Conboy, was born in the townland of drumhirk, parish of cloone, county leitrim, in 1805. He and his brothers, John and Corneilius, came to the US about 1836.

I am researching my family tree. My great grandmother, who was from county Lietrim just passed away on November 20th. Her maiden name was Winters but her cousins were Conboys. I found an envelope addressed to an Ann Conboy. Could this Conboy be one of yours? She is still alive apparently and lives in a nursing home in Ireland. She has a younger son.
