MAHON: I am searching for SACKFIELD/Sackville Mahon from Roscommon, Ireland? He is first found in New Kent, VA., in 1745, in a land deed. He is listed as Mahon. Later, he is listed as MAHONE, then later McHone. His surname Mahon was changed to McHone. If anyone has any information on Sackville Mahon/McHone, please contact me. Thanks, Sharon

MAHON/McHone in Roscommon?
Re: MAHON/McHone in Roscommon?
Hi. I don't know a lot about family history. But i've been told that we were Mahon in Ireland and then eventually changed to Mahone in the U.S., probably in Virginia. My father, George, born in West Virginia in 1926 and his father was Samuel born in Virginia. To your knowledge, would there be a connection to the line you are looking at? <br>
