I have Kearneys in my family tree. They were from Ballintubber. You'll need to provide some more information. How far have you gotten?
A good starting point is the IRLGEN web page:
http://www.bess.tcd.ie/roots_ie.htm
If I can help, please e-mail me.
Michael

BTW, Kearney is usually NOT considered related to the name Keaney. There is a lot of information
about the Kearney name, but you may find yourself spending a lot of
time on a topic totally unrelated to what you want. Keaney and Keany are usually the only expected
variations in spelling of this family name.

I'm in my final year in Trinity College Dublin, majoring in Economics. As you probably know by now the Keaneys originate from North County Leitrim, especially from Kiltyclougher, Manorhamiliton and Rossinver, where my father and Grandfather were born. So if you want to find out more you're best bet is to start with that area. Hope its been of some help

Damien Keaney
