McCabe/Beirne of Annaduff Drumsna

Post by Sandra McCabe Conrad »

Just found out that my grandfather, Charles McCabe, was born in Annaduff Drumsna in 1897.
A legal firm in Boston published an information wanted ad in my local paper looking for lineal descendants
of his brother, William, who stayed in Ireland in order to perfect the administration of the Irish Estate.
Other siblings listed are Thomas McCabe, Michael McCabe, Mary McCabe O'Rourke, and Bridget McCabe Shaughnessey.
Not listed was Bernard McCabe, also a sibling. I met great-uncle Willie in 1972 when he visited the U.S.
Another poster lists a Michael McCabe born in 1844 in Corduff South, Cloone
who married Mary Anne Bierne of Backwood Drumsna in 1880. My great-grandmother was a Beirne.
The 1901 census lists a Michael McCabe and his wife Mary Anne living in Annaduff. The names of the children are the same
with a few I have not heard of.
My grandfather settled in Lowell, MA.
