I live in Australia. My great grandfather's name was Patrick Degnan, he married an Ellen Prior who was born in Ballinamore in County Lietrim, Ireland. I cannot find any record of Patrick's birth. They appear to have moved to Scotland for a time where they had a daughter Margaret before sailing to Adelaide in South Australia in the 1850's.
