Doyle/Beirne/Quinn

Post by Jackie Cavanagh »

I am looking for any information regarding the following relatives: Luke Doyle (b.1820 IRL, immig. U.S. 1840, parents Patrick/Margaret Doyle) married 1848 to Margaret Doyle (b.1827 IRL, immig. U.S. 1840, parents Luke/Anna (Beirne) Doyle). Luke and Margaret appear in Macedon, NY 1850 Census living with Patrick/Margaret (Beirne) Quinn. They lived in Macedon until death. I am trying to find where in IRL Luke and Margaret are from, immigration place, and relation to Quinns. Luke and Margaret are my gggrandparents.

It may have information you need. If that fails I would seek records in Co.Roscommon or Co. Leitrim. All of the surnames, for example, are in Co.Roscommon on or before 1847-8.
According to their census and death records, they immigrated in 1840. My next try was contacting the heritage center in Roscommon. Thanks Maureen for your help!

I also have ancestors (MAXWELLS) who settled in Macedon, NY in the 1850's, who originated in the parish of Kilmore, Co. Roscommon. I live very near to Macedon, with access to cemetery transcriptions and some church records, and would gladly share information.
