I'm trying to find out about the Healy families from the Leitrim and Roscommon areas who had relatives leave the country in the late 19th century and early 20th century. My great grandparents left Ireland for Scotland around about then and I'm trying to find out as much as possible about them. I think my great grandfathers name was Thomas or James and he had four sons (don't know how many daughters. I don't even know what parish or town they were from. If anybody knows anything I would be grateful if they could email me.

HEALY'S OF LEITRIM AND ROSCOMMON
Re: HEALY'S OF LEITRIM AND ROSCOMMON
A Note I posted to soc.genealogy.ireland<p>Ireland to Scotland to wherever<p> If you have a gap in your ancestral line, especially northern Ireland, you may<br>find them in Scotland. The GRO's on line search (it costs money) called<br>"Origins" has just added the 1891 census to its files - check it out at<p> http://www.origins.net/GRO/<p>Gus Ellis

She did have a brother named James and from what I can gather - the family lost touch with him. Perhaps this is the same chap who went to Scotland? My relative was born around 1862 so the timeframe fits. Let me know if this helps.<p>
