Burgess/Hickey families

I am seeking information concerning my grandmother's and grandfather's parents. Both the Hickey family and Burgess family were from Roscommon, I believe. I searched for Burgess on the L-R database and came up with nothing. The Hickey name, on the other hand, did come up but there was no information beyond the name itself. It may be apparent that I am new at this sort of thing. I could, therefore, use some advice on how to proceed in seeking out my family.
