surnames Golden (?Golding) and Kelly

Post by Helen A. Wilmot »

I am searching for information on the origins of my grandfather, Thomas Francis Golden (Golding) born October 18 or 19, 1866 or 1868 in Ireland, son of Thomas and Margaret (Kelly daughter of Timothy and Margaret Kelly). I believe he arrived in
the US with his parents and siblings: Julia, Margaret Josephine and Michael Golden. Port of entry was New York on December
20, 1875. I have been unable to locate any information on them before arrival to the United States. It is believed they were from the Galway/Roscommon area of Ireland. I will be happy to share any information I have been able to find on the decendants.

You might try the Mayo on the move page. Mayo borders Galway and Roscommon. Try that area. The origins was Mcgoldrick from Ulster.
