Greetings to all of you from Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. My mother's maiden name was Headings. A very prominent story in our family is that our family originated in the USA, when two brothers came to the USA from Ireland, probably in the late 1600's or early 1700's. I have a paper that quotes: "the name Headings/Heddings is derived from the Irish name O heidin; the name was common in counties Tipperary, Roscommon, and in South Leinster"; can anyone shed some light on this, and give me any help on this name? Has anyone ever seen the Headings/Heddings spellin in Ireland anyplace. Thanks to you all. Dennis Buerge
