Seeking help on the family of Hugh H DAVIS, born in the parish of Carrigallen, Leitrim about 1812. At the age of 19yrs he joined the British Army and upon retiring due to ill health in 1851 was given the posting of Sergeant of the Leitrim Militia. We believe he may have died in December 1860 at Carrick on Shannon. He fathered a set of twins to his wife Catherine around 1856/57. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Any literature on the history of the Leitrim Militia would be of interest as well.
