CROSBY from Batontouter

I am trying to research MARY CROSBY and I need some help, as I am unfmiliar with the Irish structure - This info is from an obituary from Chicago - stating Mary Crosby, of Batontouter, Co. Poscommon - I know that Roscommon is the county - but I can't find out how to search Batontouter - any suggestions ?? Also - this is my first attempt at international research so any and all help is gretaly appreciated. I am specifically looking for a birth certificate and any emigration info. Thanks so much ! Lynn

Poscommon - etc...<p>It looks like a mispelling of Baile an Tobair, aka Ballintubber/Ballintober in English, Cos. Roscommon and Mayo, in your case the first of the two. <p>Keep the earlier form of Crosby : 'Crossan'/M(c)'Crossan', in mind during further research. <br>Good luck with your search - Go n-éirí sé leat. <br>
