Does anybody have any information on, or is anybody researching a Paddy Gavican/Gavigan of Four Mile House who married Margaret Beirne of Gortgallan in the early part of the 20th Century. Margaret was my grandmothers older sister.<p>Brian Barry

Margaret was my grandmothers older sister.<p>: Brian Barry<p>I know of a Gavigan family that lived on the Townland of Caggle or Cagglebeg in the Fourmilehouse area. Patrick Gavigan, born c. 1847, married Marie Carlos born c. 1851. Patrick's Grandmother Mary Shannon was a sister of my great, great grandfather Peter Shannon. Patrick and Marie Gavigan had 13 children: Patrick (1st) c. 1870, John c. 1872, Mary Ann c. 1874, Michael c. 1875, Bridget c. 1877, Patrick (2nd) c. 1880, Delia E. c. 1882, Margaret c. 1883, James Joseph c. 1884, William c. 1885, Catherine c. 1887, Elizabeth Alice c. 1888 and <br>Winifred c. 1890. Several of the children, including Delia, William, James Joseph, Elizabeth Alice and Margaret moved to Providence, Rhode <br>Island. Another sister moved to England. Some members of the <br>family, including Patrick, I believe, remained in Roscommon. He might be the Patrick you are trying to locate. Good luck<p><p><br>
