Thomas Gibbons was christened 2 June 1838 by Fr. Andrew Quinn at St. Bridget's Church (witnessees Patrick Lamb and Mary Gibbons)in Kilbride Parish, Elphin dioscese, Co. Roscommon. His father was James Gibbons, b. 1812, Corradrehid Townland, Elphin parish, Roscommon, d. 8 June 1874 Roosky, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. In 1826 James Gibbons had 5 acres in Corradrehid Townland. His mother was Bridget Rattigan b. Cloonbonny Townland, Co. Roscommon, d. 28 Oct 1842. Thady Rattigan had 12 acres and Luke Rattigan had 4 acres in Cloonbonny Townland and were likely relatives of Bridget.<p>Thomas emigrated to America and arrived in New Orleans and went up-river to Cincinnati before the American Civil War (about 1859). He was my gggrandfather.<p>I would appreciate any information about the Gibbons or Rattigan Families, and would be glad to share my descendants list.<p>Martin Gibbons
