My grandfather was Martin Degnan. He married Margaret Meehan and they lived in Wilkes Barre, Pa. She had a sister named Ann who lived in New York. My fater, James Martin was one of their nine children. Martin was killed in 1908 in a mining accident and my grandmother raised all 9 children in Pa.It is possible that my paternal grandfather was Hugh Degnan and he married Mary Ryan, both from Ireland. My grandmother's parents may have been Patrick and Ann Meehan who were from Ireland but went to Scotland during the potato famine. From there they immigrated to the US where she met and married my grandfather. None of the 9 children are alive today, but there are many cousins in New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. If anyone has any more info I'd be grateful to hear from you.<br>
