From 1864 on births in Ireland were registered by the government. Those registers were also alphabetically
indexed. The LDS (Mormons) have the system on
microfilm. If you go to one of their 6,000 Family History
Library Centers they can help you order the microfilms from
Salt Lake.
Your grandfather's birth registration entry will give
his date of birth, names and address of his parents
including mother's maiden name, and other things.
Quinn isn't that common of an Irish name, so you
should be able to pick him from the bunch. If it
were a name like Kelly you would have problems.
