I am interested in the Maypowder family, I would like to know
who they were, where they went and what did they own???
any information would be appreciated

The Maypother (also known as Maypowder) family had their estate in the parish of Kilteevan. There is a chapter on the history of the family in a book published in 1997 - "Kilteevan, A look at a school and its parish" edited by Hazel A. Ryan. I think it is available at Roscommon Town newspaper shops. By the way, the actor, Tom Cruise, is reputely a descendant.
