Harkin's in Leitrim

I am researching the Harkin family that lived in Innishmagrath around 1830-1845. They are in the 1833 tithe's but I can not quite make out the townland. It looks like Lisdrumcullerva but I know there is not any townland listed by this name. Does any one know if this is an old mame for some other townland? The husband was Patrick Harkin and the wife Judith Harkin nee Cullen. They are in the parish records of Innishmagrath.

There is both a Patrick and a Patrick Jr. Harkin in Lisgavneen and there are also Cullens in Griffith's Valuation. The townland of Lisgavneen (up on the side of the mountain) borders right on the boundary for Inishmagrath so they may have related more to that area despite being technically part of Killarga. When you say that they are in the records for Inishmagrath, what exactly are you referring to ?

I had found the information on Lisgaveen and perhaps this is where there family were living at the time of the survey. The information I had is from Church parish records for the birth of one of their children I have recently found information from the 1861 British census ( they went to Wakefield sometime after 1847) that both Patrick and his wife were born in Greyfield Townland, Leitrim. This is great information for me to have. It turns out that my wife and I just returned from a trip to Ireland and we visited the townland of Greyfield. This may help me find their parents. Does any one know where I can find information as to who is buried in the cemetery on the R200 near Greyfield?

Contact the Leitrim Genealogy Center in Ballinamore, County Leitrim. tel: (071) 9644012 email info@leitrimroots.com the web site www.leitrimroots.com. They are very helpful , but there is a charge. They have engineering studies I believe done in the 1980's which show the location of all gravestones in Leitrim (I am only familiar with Mohill) the graves are all mapped and numbered. These maps show individual gravestones and plots. As we know names repeat, therefore if you can give them as much info as possible (including Townland) names etc. Again these maps do not have names on them. This is possibly a way to find out who else is buried in a plot, or near a plot. God Bless Jim Bohan

During a summer visit to Ireland I have found my Harkin's are from Greyfield Townland. Patrick Harkin was born in Greyfield 1811 and Judith Cullen in 1812. However, I have not found any information as to Patrick and Judith's parents. I would like to hear from any Harkin's from this area.
