I am looking for information on Stephen, son of Hubert and Catherin
of Co Roscommon. I believe that he moved to the USA and married Mary
Saunders on 12 May 1884 in Cuyahoga, Ohio. Grateful for any info
,

Stephen Nerney/Nerheny
Re: Stephen Nerney/Nerheny
Bill
Good to see you back, did you see the messages regarding Fairvalley? I spoke to mum and dad and they told me it is a local name for Killavackan. I am still not 100% sure that Hubert was Catherines husband. I have a document relating to cess tax that shows a James Nerney of Killavackan in 1881. Looking at the names and comparing them with the old naming patterns I believe James may have been Catherines husband and Hubert may have been his father, what do you think? Also, my grandfather Bernard (listed in the 1901 census as widower, 3 children, living with Catherine) was living in Fairymount when the youngest child (Bridget)was born in 1894, on her birth cert he is named as Bernard Nerheny, not Nerney. Send me your NZ stuff, I am going to Ireland this year and will hopefully see James Nerney in Killavackan for some more information as I believe his father knew an awful lot on the family.
Brian
: I am looking for information on Stephen, son of Hubert and Catherin
: of Co Roscommon.
