Related Surname Info: James Rooney/Katherine Farrell, parents of Michael Rooney who emmigrated to USA in 1870, turned out to be from Co Sligo, not Leitrim. The only James/Katherine I can find in Sligo are located in Moodoge. Any ideas where I may find something with Katherine's maiden name. I have no information on any siblings. I do have naturalization papers for a Lawrence Rooney, who emmigrated from Co Sligo in 1849 to USA (Cape Vincent, New York) at the age of 25. But he could read and write. So I am not sure if he is even related to the Rooney's I am looking for.
