<br>: I am researching the surnames of MEEHAN and DEGNAN. I have very limited information on both. I believe that both families are from the Leitrim and Roscommon areas. However I do not know exactly where. Patrick and Ann MEHANN immigrated to Scotland prior to moving on to the USA. Their daughter Margaret was married to Martin Degnan. Thanks for any help.<p>

Hello , My name is Tony Wilson from Manchester , England.<br>e-mail address : tonwilson@line.net<br> <br>My great great grandfather was John Degnan , born in Ireland in the 1840's.<br>John Degnan worked in the leather/tanning trade.His father may have been Francis <br>Degnan.I have to confirm this yet.<br>John Degnan married Ann Connor.They had four sons William (stepson of John Degnan ) , Jeremiah , John and Henry - all born in Manchester.<br>Henry was my great grandfather. He married Margaret Larkin.Her parents were from County Galway.<br>One or more of their other sons (apart from Henry) may have gone to the U.S.<br>My grandmother was Mary Degnan.<br>I am researching the Degnan and Larkin names.<br>Any information you have on the Degnan name and relevant records would be<br>greatly appreciated.<br>I have some general information on the Degnan name you may be interested in that I could send you , although I'm guessing you probably have much more of this than I<br>do.<br>Also I have done research on the Degnan name in England in the latter part of the 19th Century - nearly all of whom came to the North of England.<br> <br>Tony.<br> <br> <br>
