I am trying to find out if there is a loist of the members of Sinn Fein or the Ira in the 1920's in the Cattan area, near Cloone. My mother reports that her father had to leave the area in 1920 due to the Black & Tan police possibly arresting him. His name was Bernard Mc Cabe b. 1897 of Cattan townland, Cloone Civil parish, son of Michael & Bridget Higgins Mc Cabe.
I am researching the Mc Cabe 's of Cloone and the Higgins of Clooncloose, leitrim.
Thanks-Kathy

My great-uncle was involved somehow as well as the grandfather of my 3rd cousin (sorry it's too late at night to try working out the relationship just now) who fled to America with a British bullet in his leg and a price on his head (or so family legend goes)

Jim
