I am trying to trace my ancestors, particularly Cormack McGourty married mary McLaughlan had at least 3 children, Michael, Daniel and Cecily.<p>I shall be visiting Drumshanbo in August 2001 and would welcome any information.

We were searching for my McPartlin and Simpson roots. We found the site of the McPartlin home near the RC church north of Drumshambo in Drumnafinilla, Ballinglera (It is now Mulveys pub and general store). The Simpsons lived across the valley in Drumnilass.We were told to go to the spot 'just across the road from the Blessed Virgin's shrine". We met Bernadette McGoorty. Her late husband's mother had taken care of Tommy, the last of the Simpsons who died 20 years ago. His house is still there, but owned by the McGoortys. My attention was caught by the names you have listed in Leitrim. I have relatives that are from Tullynaha and their last name is Forde. Members of the Forde family have married people with the last name of McPartland and McGourty, who were from the area of Tullynaha and Carrick on Shannon.
