Bob,
I'll answer in place of my sister, Terry, in case she hasn't emailed an answer to you.
I don't know if Ann fits or not. The only thing I do know about Patrick Sheeran came from his tombstone which said he was born in County Roscommon on April 6, 1835.

I'll reply in case my sister, Terry, hasn't emailed you.
1) The only alternate spellings I've seen for Sheeran have been Shearon and Shearan but, like everything else in genealogy, anything is possible.
2) I don't know where he emigrated to in America. All I know is that he popped up in a small, Irish town in Kansas, USA, around 1859.

Spelling sometimes SPRUHAN or SHRUHAN
