Drumreilly Townlands

Would anyone have an idea of their location ?<br>: Thanks again.<br>: Sharon<p>: Cassidy,Flynn,Keegan, Lee, and McDermott<p>I had the same problem with townlands in Cloone parish until I discovered that there are a great number of 'old' townland names which were officially abolished in the mid 19th century and amalgamated with others. These 'old' names, however continued to be regularly used locally. <p>You will probably find that these now form part of other 'official' townlands. Unfortunately finding the 'new' name can prove difficult. I suggest you contact someone locally and ask. Perhaps the Leitrim Heritage Centre in Ballinamore could help.<p>Best of luck<p>Jim Irvine<p>

Thanks for your help; after some frustration I finally discovered that Drumreilly parish actually "leaves" Leitrim, goes into County Cavan, and then BACK into Leitrim further south; and that is where these townlands are located (nowhere near mine).<br>Sharon
