Hello, My ancestors Peter HARGADON/HARDIMAN (Have seen both spellings from the records in St.Peter & Paul's church) married PENELOPE VESEY. I haven't any date as to either of their births & may have married abt. 1828? They did own property with along with others however. During the p.famine they both died and left three of their children Peter-John-Patrick-Mary, who married a Maguire. She Mary Hardiman Maguire, brougth the boys to America probably abt. 1856?? Penelope Vesey's mother was Bridget Vesey and she had a son named Bernard Higgins..I believe Bridget was married to a Martin Higgins..they were at a baptisem for Peter & Penelope's daughter's MARGARET in 1840. So was a Sara Cruise. Bridget & her son Bernard who married a Margaret McDonald, lived in Chicago, Illionis for a time had several children and then moved to Dane Co. Wisconsin, and are buried there in Resurrection Cemetery. Would like to hear from anyone with any knowledge of these people or if you are related in any way.
Thank you.
Jackie Downen California USA

There is a Patrick and Bridget Hardiman in the worcester MA (Douglas) 1855 census states born in ireland. This would make him a survivor of both 1832 and 1848 famine. Could he be a son of your hardiman?
I would love to be able to tie him to James Hardiman 1782-1855 who published a history of Galway.
