I have recently found two birth certificates of some of my great aunt's and uncle's registered here in Scotland. Their parents were John McFarlane and Annie Wynne and on the birth certificates it gives their marriage details. They were married in either 1879 or 1880 in Ireland (the two records are not consistant) and one of the certificates lists the place of marriage as 'Caigatock, Roscommon, Ireland'. I've searched all of the maps in this database looking for possible matches but found nothing, even allowing for the fact that the registrar may have spelled it the way he heard it and not by the correct spelling. I'm now assuming that 'Caigatock' may be a place within the townland of Roscommon and therefore too small to feature in any of the maps here. Does anyone have any idea where 'Caigatock' might be?

Re: McFarlane/Wynne - place of marriage
Hazel, I am a descendant of the Wynn(e)s who went to Scotland from Roscommon. No need to clutter up this board with my own info, but I may be able to help you if you would contact me off-the-board. (I tried your e-mail address, but it bounced.)
