Re: Tiernan
Hi ! My (Mc)Tiernans are actually from Geevagh, Co Sligo which borders Leitrim . Probably not a connection, but some of the names are quite frequent/familiar in my line . My great-great-grandfather was Terence Tiernan (b. 1800 approx.) . Also, James Tiernan was my g-grandfather (b. 1835) .. You may want to try looking on www.mctiernan.com . It's a wealth of information for McTiernans/McTernans/Tiernans .

I am looking for descendents of the following persons, all born in Rinn, Gortletteragh Roman Catholic Parish:
: John Joseph Tiernan, baptized December 14, 1862
: Thomas Tiernan, baptized April 21, 1864
: Marcella Tiernan, baptized June 18, 1865
: Sarah Anne Tiernan, baptized September 16, 1866
: James Tiernan, baptized December 9, 1868
: Francis Tiernan, baptized February 8, 1871
: Matthew Tiernan, baptized June 20, 1875
: Catherine Tiernan, baptized June 5, 1878 Married someone from Killoe Parish, County Longford, named Keene, Kane, or Keon October 28, 1912.
: Parents of these persons were Terence Tiernan and Mary Conefrey
