My great grandfather, John Patrick Flannagan (spelt with variations throughout his life) married Bridget (and/or Ann)Bagot (also with spelling variations) in Birmingham, England in 1865. Both were from Roscommon, Ireland. John's father was also named John and he had died by 1865. Bridget's mother was named Hanora and was, prior to her move to Birmingham, a farmer's wife.
The couple had three children, all born in Birmingham -
Mary Ann, b 1866
John, b 1869
Kate, b 1871
Hanora was still alive in 1881 aged 78.
I have full details of the subsequent lives of the children but I have no more information beyond that given above for their parents.
Does anyone have any knowledge of the above family?
Regards,
Mike Walker

FLANNAGAN/BAGOT'S IN ROSCOMMON
Re: FLANNAGAN/BAGOT'S IN ROSCOMMON
Correction to original messaage:
John Patrick Flannagan's father was actually named HUBERT FLANNAGAN (his recorded surname on John Patrick's marriage certificate was Flanagan).
Bridget Bagot's father was named JOHN BAGOT

: My great grandfather, John Patrick Flannagan (spelt with variations throughout his life) married Bridget (and/or Ann)Bagot (also with spelling variations) in Birmingham, England in 1865. Look in the 1901 Census here and find two Baggot/Bagot in Kiltullagh parish. Two of those families are still there in the same townland of Cloonreligh/Cloonrelaigh. Many folk back then found a spouse in the same parish and you'll note seven Flanagan families in Kiltullagh in 1901. Griffith for this parish is not done so we can't go any farther with this armchair research.
