Dear Folks,
Part of my family tree just fell down when I found out that my grandfather Patrick Gaffney was a generation older than I had previously
believed. Also I now know that my g.grandfathers Christian name was also Patrick and not James as I thought.
What I also know for sure is that one of my ancestors(my g.grandfather?)was nicknamed "Action" and that his land had a stream running through it with a name which
sounds like "Fiorish" (fee ore ish.
Until now I thought that the family originated in Crosshill, Kilronan - there were certainly close relatives still there in the early 1900's there. Also my grandfather bought a farm in Upper Rover in the late 1800's which our family owned until about the
1970's.
Any help in clarifying the picture would be much appreciated - I suspect I previously mis-took a brother of my grandfather as my g. grandfather but need to get some clarification to get back on track.
My grandfather was married in Hamilton, Scotland in 1902 to my grandmother she was about 19 or 20 and he was probably in his late 30's to early 40's - he died in 1942.
Thanks
Ed. Gaffney
