Thank you for reading this, I really need help. I've been searching this for so long, I finally found a very promising connection in Ireland and don't want to lose for lack of information.
My Cecilia Murray would have been born in 1838. I found her, Celia Murray McGarry, on Ed's terrific site. The 1901 census she's widowed in Kingsland, Frenchpark, Roscommon with some of her children. The only clues are, she may have had brothers named James and Frank, her father or grand father was Michael Murray, changed his name to Murat to become a prof. at Sorbonne and fought for Napoleon. Her mother (stepmother) or grandmother was a Celia Treaux.
I'm sorry, I know that's not much to go on, I need to know her parents and birthplace. I don't have any big guns here so please someone, try some sources for me and write me back.
Thank you for any kindness you can offer. I don't like to take without giving, so for those who don't know, you can now search the New York Emigrants Savings Bank http://www.genexchange.org/esb/search.c ... nique=form
Blessings on Ed and all Roscommon searchers, I've learned a lot out here, thank you all, Tim McGarry searching Murray, Egan, Coll, Carney, Sharkey, Rorke (O'Rourke), Noonan and of course McGarry relliehunt@yahoo.com
