On a recent visit to the Church of Ireland burial ground in Ballinglough I found a headstone to the memory of a family by the name of Mears. The names on the headstone included a Jerimiah who died in England 10/12/1993. <p>My ancestors were from Castlerea and I can trace them back to a Jerimiah in the 1800's. My family spelt the name Mairs, though it was always said that some members of the clan changed the spelling (not sure which was the original)<p>As the name Jerimiah is relatively rare I wondered if there might be a relationship between my family and the Mears buried in Ballinglough.<p>Is there anyone out there who knows of a family of that name still living in the area.<p>Would like to hear from you, <p>Sheila
