My grandmother was born in Gortgallen - adjacent to Cloontuskert. She was a Beirne but had Mullooley and Fallon relations from this area. I would be most interested to correspond with you as I also have relations who went from this area to Manchester at the time you mentioned.

I don't have information on the author but would be most interested in any information on the book as my family are from the Sliabh Bann area.
